satrapi-2.jpg    The black&white animated film adaptation of Marjane Satrapi’s bestselling autobiographical graphic novels (Persepolis I & II) is set to release in 2008 by SonyClassics, with the ‘Perisan-Parisian’ author starring as herself, and legendary French actress Catherine Deneuvue giving voice to her grandmother.   See her blog  www.marjane-satrapi.com for comments.

For those of us who are angry about or disappointed by being portrayed by others in Hollywood, this might be good news.

You would be surprised to see that many English people have read the book and a lot are excited about the movie. MS’s webpage in MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/persepolislefilm) is also interesting and has lots of short clips and interviews.
